Thank you for choosing to book with Dumfries House Lodge Guesthouse. We look forward to welcoming you to the Lodge. By making this booking you are entering an agreement with us. Prices and Breakfast

This price includes accommodation and full hearty Scottish breakfast for lodge guests only.

For Guests staying in the cottages, you are on a self-catering basis only. Breakfast will not be included in the price of your stay (unless alternative arrangements have been made). Prices also include VAT.

Entry into Dumfries House is not included in the price. Tickets for this can be purchased at www.dumfrieshouse.co.uk where you can also pick a time for the tour that suits you.

Pets

Sorry, pets are not allowed inside the Lodge. By special arrangement we will allow dogs to stay, providing that they sleep in their owner's car, are kept on a lead at all times when outside the car and are exercised only in the areas indicated by us. Please remember that this is a country house estate with a working farm!

Pets are allowed in the self-catering cottages. Please advise us on your booking form that you are going to be bringing a pet with you, all of the above rules apply.

Booking Confirmation & Deposit:

We do not accept deposits for the Lodge. Full payment is made after your stay with us here at the Lodge. There is a deposit for the self-catering cottages that must be paid up front.

All bookings are confirmed by email or by Telephone. If you need a confirmation email sent to you please make sure the email address given is correct before submitting booking.

If you are booking the self catering cottages, a 25% non-refundable deposit must be paid to secure the booking the remaining balance is paid 8 weeks prior to your stay here with us at Dumfries House Lodge.

Cancellation and Insurance

By making your booking, the agreement then becomes a legal contract. We would recommend that you take out cancellation insurance to cover this cost.

If you need to cancel please contact us immediately, by either phone or email.

For cancellations made up to 3 days or 72 hours before your booked stay you will not be liable for the total balance. For cancellations made after this time, or by failing to take up the booking without cancelling, you are still liable to pay for the booking in full, even if we have not yet received your balance. We will exercise this right at our discretion.

If we do succeed in re-letting the booking, you are no longer liable for the balance, or we will refund it to you.

If you need to cancel your booking due to adverse weather conditions or exceptional family circumstances we are happy to transfer your booking to another date if at all possible, without loss of your original deposit. Please contact us to discuss.

Non-availability of Accommodation

We would only cancel your stay if your accommodation was unavailable for reasons beyond our control. We would however attempt to offer you alternative accommodation. If this was not possible, or unacceptable to you, then we would refund all monies paid by you for the holiday. Our liability would not extend beyond this refund.

Arrival

CHECK IN TIME IS… 3pm until 5pm.

Your accommodation will be available to you from 3.00pm on the day of arrival, unless otherwise arranged. We may not be able to accommodate you if you arrive earlier than the agreed time as we will be busy preparing your rooms. However, you may drop off your bags and collect your room keys at an earlier time by prior arrangement. Please telephone one of the contact numbers listed to advise us of your arrival time on the day. On arrival please use the smaller and newer doorbell beside the front door and someone will let you in.

All Guests must be checked into their accommodation no later than 5pm. If your arrival time is going to be after 5pm YOU MUST advise us 1 week prior to your arrival time, so we can arrange staff to be on site to greet you.

Late Arrivals are not accepted unless pre-arranged with myself well before the date of the stay.

It is much appreciated if you can notify us of your estimated time of arrival (a telephone call on the day before or morning of arrival is fine).

Late arrival procedure

Please ensure you contact us to let us know if you will be arriving late, and your new estimated time of arrival. This is of utmost importance so we can organize staff to be here for your arrival. 1 week's notice is required and there will be a small charge.

Room Vacation

We respectfully remind guests that Dumfries House Lodge offers bed and breakfast and is NOT a hotel, therefore:

Please vacate your room by 11.00am, unless otherwise arranged. The room needs be ready for re-occupation from 3.00pm, unless otherwise arranged.

If your stay is over a few days we actively encourage you to use the lodge as your home. All we ask is during cleaning times you allow the staff to be able to do their jobs. If you do not want your room serviced we ask you to let us know.

Payment

The full balance of your stay is payable after breakfast on the last day of your stay. Payment can be made by cash, credit or debit card, or cheque supported by a cheque guarantee card. We take all major credit and debit cards.

Damages and Breakages

Please take care when staying in our property. You are responsible and liable for any breakages or damages which you cause to the accommodation or its contents. We ask that you do report any incidents when they occur. We do not normally charge for minor breakages, but we may send you an invoice for repair or making good if the damage or breakage is significant.

Parties and unauthorised guests

Under no circumstances are parties to be held in the Lodge or any of the Guest bedrooms.

Unauthorised guests are not permitted in the Lodge or to stay in any of the Bedrooms in the Lodge.

The Duty Manager is on site and will do spot checks and investigate any noise complaints that are received, this could result in guests being asked to leave.

Liability

We do not accept any liability for any damage, loss or injury to any member of your party or any vehicles or possessions, unless proven to be caused by a negligent act by ourselves or our employees or contractors whilst acting in the course of employment.

Privacy Policy

Any data collected during the course of this booking will be stored on our computer(s). With your permission we may from time to time contact you about promotions and offers. We will not share your details with any third party.
